Launching The Hydra Brand
The first product that the guys at Hydra launched was the big bottle – a 2.2L premium bottle that would provide you with the recommended daily water intake for your day.
Meaning – you fill the bottle once and you’re good to go!
The bottle itself helped with the ad creative due to the daily intake and the attractive design and colours would be eye-catching.
So they launched the initial ads on the Facebook(TM) Advertising platform.
Typical Ad Type on Launch:
Following the ‘good’ advice they had heard from many articles on how to advertise their products, the guys decided to run their first ads using ‘best practises’.
- Influencer style advertising
- Using real people and smiling face photos (as they tend to work better on social media)
- Building trust through evidence of past purchases
And while they received interactions, social comments and great feedback from their influencers and tribes – sales struggled.
The best results they could achieve with this style of advertising was a cost per click on their ad averaging $4.35 each and unfortunately never made a sale.
